A detail of a saxophone. The background was meant to be piano keys, but I was working with a deadline looming over my head. So I employed abstraction.
Maybe this is art-historical sacrilege, but perhaps that is how abstract art was born? Maybe Whistler was just like "Dude, this is taking too long! Realism/Schmealism! I'mma just going to throw this pot of paint on the canvas, give it a fancy new art movement name, and pay my rent on time this month..."
